EDOUARD MENDY IN ENGLAND TO FINALISE HIS CONTRACT WITH CHELSEA

Rennes of France Ligue goal tender Edouard Mendy already in England to finalise his £22m fee contract which he had agreed.

Kepa Arrizabalaga’s errors in the London based Chelsea English Premiership giants first two league games had made the Coach Frank Lampard to strengthen his squad by bringing in a goalkeeper to the team.

Mike Maignan of Lille of France goaltender had been shortlisted by Chelsea some months ago but the price £32m for his signature was what kept the London side to opt for another goalkeeper, and also Mendy whose Chelsea’s technical director singled out has been in strong talks with the club.

Mendy who is 28 years old and been in fine form for his France Ligue 1 side Rennes was in goal as Rennes played nine matches without conceding a goal in the league matches.

Arturo Vidal says with joy he is happy to have played for Barcelona after two years of staying at Camp Nou. He was quoted as saying goodbye to Barcelona fans and management as he wrote on his Instagram. He continued saying he feels fulfilled to play in the Barcelona team with quality players.

He also appreciated the fans, management, staffs, and the medical team of Barcelona for being there for him as he stayed theses two (2) years with Barcelona. He expressed his gratitude to his teammates in the team for all they had done for him while in the club.

IVAN RAKITIC RETIRES FROM INTERNATIONAL FOOTBALL

In another development, another Barcelona star Ivan Rakitic had retired from international football, after donning the Croatian national team jersey for 106 appearances and 16 goals international goals to his name. Before his retirement, he was the current vice-captain of the national team and was so instrumental as Croatia came first runner-up in the World Cup at Russia in 2018, where he scored two great goals against Denmark and Russia en-route to the grand finale of the World Cup in 2018.

He also added that he is a big fan of the Croatia national team and that he will be solidly behind them to cheer them up in upcoming tournaments for the team, he wished his teammates best of luck as they continue in the quest for international honours.

Alvaro Morata will be in Italy tomorrow to put pen to paper for his switch to Italian giants the “Old Lady” Juventus of Italy this was said by Fabrizio Romano. The player who will be 28 years old next month had already played for Juventus two (2) years 2014-2016 before he went back to the Spanish giants Real Madrid. The deal went through as Luis Suarez had been signed by the former club Atletico Madrid. Alvaro who had been with Chelsea of England and Atletico Madrid will put finishing touches to the deal with Juventus by tomorrow after going through medicals.
